Mansion House Hotel

Nearly all of downtown Mobile suffered during one of the many fires that struck the city in 1839. The Mansion House Hotel, which also housed the city's post office, was burned in October of that year but was re-opened 18 months later. 

On New Year's Eve, 1843, the Cowbellions performed their tableau for the mayor at the Mansion House Hotel. 

Then walking down the street two more blocks to the north, they entered the Waverly Hotel for their ball.
